The Ricote Valley is just 15 minutes from the cosmopolitan cathedral city of Murcia, 55 minutes to Alicante and San Javier Airports and the beautiful coastal beaches of the Mar Menor, and just 25 minutes to the new Corvera Airport. The area is well served by new motorways, providing safe access to and from the valley in every direction.
Stretching approximately 30km's from end to end, the Ricote Valley is situated in the beautiful province of Murcia. It is well known for its temperate climate with lush green landscapes and mile after mile of citrus groves, orchards, olive groves and vineyards. This area is traditionally Spanish with a friendly and relaxed way of life.
With the flowing, fresh water River Segura running the length of the Ricote Valley and many streams, springs and lagoons, this area is a wondrous natural habitat for a wide variety of birds and other wildlife - an absolute treat for the walker, artist and fisherman. In addition to the beauty of the surroundings the Ricote Valley area is a particularly attractive setting for activities such as walking, trekking or climbing, water sports such as swimming, rafting, canoeing, fishing, also horse riding, cycling, archaeology and geology digs, or if you prefer then we have river beaches along the banks of the River Segura offering an enjoyable day at the ‘beach’, apart from all year around parties, fiesta’s and fun, then the Ricote Valley is the place for you.
Within the Ricote Valley, the town of Cieza has numerous outstanding UNESCO World Heritage listed rock art sites as well as other historical landmarks to enjoy.
The Spanish climate is the best in Europe. Here in the province of Murcia we enjoy the sunshine all year roundwith average temperatures in excess of 19ºC and 315 days of sun a year. Here in Blanca with the altitude at 150m above sea level our winters are very mild and very short enabling you to grow and enjoy tropical fruit and flowers all year around.
